The pos­i­tion:

As a mem­ber of the Fault Tol­er­ant Com­put­ing research group within the depart­ment Sys­tem Archi­tec­tures you will con­trib­ute to research into design­ing and imple­ment­ing FPGA ICs in IHP tech­no­logy with the help of open source FPGA devel­op­ment tools. Your tasks will include the setup and test­ing of the Open­FPGA frame­work for rapid pro­to­typ­ing of cus­tom­iz­able FPGA archi­tec­tures. An inter­na­tional team of 12 sci­ent­ists includ­ing very exper­i­enced senior research­ers as well as sev­eral PhD stu­dents is look­ing for­ward to you. Flat hier­arch­ies and mutual sup­port are import­ant to us. We see diversity of per­spect­ives as a great advant­age for our team. We strive for a bal­anced gender mix in our team.

Requirements:

Your qual­i­fic­a­tions:

You hold a Bach­elor’s degree in Com­puter Sci­ences or a com­par­able study area. You are already exper­i­enced with HDL design and FPGA pro­gram­ming and have a good under­stand­ing of the FPGA archi­tec­ture. Ideally, but not man­dat­ory you have exper­i­ence in work­ing with Linux and are famil­iar with using Make­files and the gen­eral concept of build flows.
