As the German National Library of Science and Technology our future-oriented services ensure the infrastructural requirements for a high-quality supply of information and literature for research in science and industry. With the Open Research Knowledge Graph (ORKG), we are working to revolutionise the exchange and use of scientific knowledge in the digital age.
The Technische Informationsbibliothek (TIB) – Leibniz Information Centre for Science and Technology –
Program Area C, Research and Development, is looking to employ a Project manager in the context of the European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage Initiative (m/f/d) to work in Open Science Lab as of 1st January 2026.
The position is limited until 31st December 2028 (end of the project term). The regular weekly working time is 39.8 hours (full-time). The position is generally suitable for part-time employment. The remuneration is based on pay scale group 13 TV-L.
Your challenge
The Open Science Lab (OSL) of the TIB is concerned with the development towards digital, open and collaborative science and supports scientific and cultural institutions by developing and testing new methods and software tools together with their communities. We are looking for a communicative and entrepreneurial person with a strong technical background to support and manage the activities of the OSL in the EU HORIZON-funded initiative to build metadata enrichment tools (ECHOLOT) for the European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage (ECCCH).
ECHOLOT supports the adoption of the ECCCH by making the creation, reuse and dissemination of high-quality, semantically rich and interoperable cultural heritage data accessible to scholars and institutions of any size. The new end-to-end solution relies on knowledge graphs and open source software (notably MediaWiki suite) for the application of the FAIR data principles. Using a combination of AI-, knowledge-, and rule-based approaches, ECHOLOT delivers hybrid curation workflows that efficiently combine automated processing and human input to perform multilingual and multimedia annotation, description generation and entity recognition. To ensure sustainability and impact, ECHOLOT includes business model innovation, training, and community engagement, as well as close collaboration with ECCCH stakeholders. The project includes 15 project partners across 11 European countries.
The main focus of your role will be the successful fulfilment and delivery of the ‘Coordination and Project Management’ Work Package (WP). This WP monitors the high-quality implementation and completion of project tasks, milestones and deliverables. It safeguards the proper and timely project delivery according to the Description of Work (DoW) and work-plan, ensuring successful collaboration within the ECHOLOT consortium. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team and will have an opportunity to be an active voice in strategic discussions around the roadmap and development of services in the context of the ECCCH project, as well as OSL and TIB at large.
