Tech­ni­sche Uni­ver­si­tät Dres­den (TUD), as a Uni­ver­sity of Excel­lence, is one of the lea­ding and most dyna­mic rese­arch insti­tu­ti­ons in the coun­try. Foun­ded in 1828, today it is a glo­bally ori­en­ted, regio­nally ancho­red top uni­ver­sity as it focu­ses on the grand chal­len­ges of the 21st cen­tury. lt deve­lops inno­va­tive solu­ti­ons for the world's most pres­sing issues. Rese­arch Asso­ciate (m/f/x)

The posi­tion is star­ting at the next pos­si­ble date. The posi­tion com­pri­ses 75 % of the full­time wee­kly hours. The posi­tion is limi­ted until August 14, 2025. The period of employ­ment is gover­ned by the Fixed Term Rese­arch Con­tracts Act (Wis­sen­schafts­zeit­ver­trags­ge­setz-WissZeitVG). The posi­tion offers the chance to obtain fur­ther aca­de­mic qua­li­fi­ca­tion (e.g. PhD / habi­li­ta­tion the­sis).

Working field:

The work inclu­des rese­arch activi­ties in the field of mul­ti­modal inter­ac­tion, vehi­cle acoustics and/or psy­choacoustics. The exact rese­arch topic will be jointly deter­mi­ned depen­ding on the app­li­cant's inte­rests and skills.
For example, one objec­tive could be the deve­lop­ment of per­cep­tion-based mea­su­rement methods for sound and vibra­tion in motor vehi­cles. This may involve per­cep­tual expe­ri­ments, mode­ling stu­dies, and/or mea­su­rements. For per­cep­tual expe­ri­ments, an immer­sive audio play­back sys­tem (wave field syn­the­sis) as well as a motion simu­la­tor (hexa­pod) in a mul­ti­modal labo­ra­tory envi­ron­ment can be used, among other things. Fur­ther­more, power­ful mea­su­rement tech­no­logy, e.g. an array of 3D Micro­flown sound inten­sity pro­bes, is avail­able. The obtai­ned results will be pre­sen­ted and published in mee­tings, at con­fe­ren­ces and in the form of sci­en­ti­fic papers.

Requirements:

Above-average uni­ver­sity degree and -if app­li­ca­ble - PhD degree rela­ted to the field of acoustics; sound know­ledge and expe­ri­ence in the field of acoustics; high moti­va­tion and inde­pen­dent as well as sci­en­ti­fic working style; open-min­ded­ness for inter­di­sci­pli­nary coope­ra­tion and good Eng­lish skills. Can­di­da­tes who can com­mu­ni­cate flu­ently in both Eng­lish and Ger­man are pre­fer­red. Expe­ri­ence, pos­si­bly PhD, in the field of mul­ti­modal inter­ac­tion, vehi­cle acoustics and psy­choacoustics is an advan­tage.
